We opted for a lithium battery rather than an acid battery. At only 3.1 lbs, it is 2.5x lighter. Moreover, it is easily accessible and rechargeable. The charger is included.
A lithium battery will provide constant electrical power until it is completely discharged, unlike an acid battery which will decrease in power.
